Edit your demo

Working with the step list in the Demo Maker Pro editor, reordering, renaming and deleting steps, adding a title page and completion screen, and saving the project as a .dmp file.

Once you have recorded a browser workflow or taken some desktop captures, the editing happens in the desktop application. Every captured step appears in the left sidebar of the Demo Maker Pro editor. Click one to open it. Browser steps and desktop steps edit exactly the same way.

The step list

  • Reorder by dragging a step, or using Move up and Move down the step's menu.
  • Rename a step from the same menu, so the list reads like your story rather than like page titles.
  • Delete extra steps or steps you did not mean to capture.
  • Title page and completion screen sit at the top and bottom of the step list and are optional.

Each step also carries a target and a tooltip, which are where the guidance itself lives. Those are covered on targets and tooltips.

Save your project

Use File > Save Demo (.dmp) to save your work. A .dmp file is your editable project, containing every captured step. It stays on your own computer.

Large projects take a while to save. The app shows progress and a running timer while it works. Leave it open until it finishes.

A .dmp file is the project you keep editing. It is not the thing you send to a viewer, for that, export a self-contained HTML file or publish a shareable link.
