About Demo Maker Pro

What the product is, who publishes it, what it runs on, what it produces, what it costs, and where the data lives.

Demo Maker Pro is local-first interactive demo software for Windows, published by qwerty2 LLC at demomakerpro.com. It records a software workflow and turns it into a click-through demo a viewer steps through in a browser.

It has two parts. A Windows desktop application, where you edit, export and publish. And a Chrome and Edge browser extension, which captures browser workflows and streams the steps into the application as you click. Desktop Capture runs from the application alone and needs no extension.

Projects are saved as local .dmp files on your own machine. Finished demos are either exported as a single self-contained HTML file that you host wherever you like, or published to a link on demos.demomakerpro.com. Plans are $59, $89 and $299 per month. Support is support@demomakerpro.com.

The two capture methods

Browser capture, produces real HTML

The extension records inside your own Chrome or Edge, in your own already-logged-in session, and captured steps stream into the desktop editor in real time as you click. Because the result is real markup, text stays selectable and searchable, fonts and spacing survive, and a single changed screen can be re-recorded on its own. It requires the desktop app to be open and licensed while recording. More detail on HTML interactive demo software.

Desktop Capture, produces images

In the application you click Record Desktop, switch to the program, press the capture key (F9 by default) once per screen, then click Stop. It covers Windows applications, virtual machine windows, Java and Citrix clients, and web interfaces that will not snapshot cleanly. Text in a desktop step is part of the picture, not selectable content. That is the trade for reaching something HTML cannot read. More on the Windows application demo recorder.

Both kinds of step land in the same step list in the order taken, and everything downstream is identical. See the browser and desktop demo recorder.

Licensing, trial and refunds

A licence covers one device, except Team, which covers five computers. Move machines through File > License > Deactivate this device and then activate on the new one; support can release a seat if the old machine is gone. After activation the software works for three days without an internet connection, and connecting resets the three days.

The trial runs seven days. A card is taken at signup and charged nothing that day. You can cancel at any time, and if you ask within 30 days the last payment is refunded in full. When a paid plan ends you can no longer record, edit, export or publish, but HTML demos already exported to your computer keep working, because they do not check in with anything.
