Both tools mix screen and HTML capture
Guideflow captures through its Chrome extension, a Figma plugin and a desktop app for Windows and macOS, in three types: screenshot, video and HTML. Its help center says you can combine screen and HTML capture in a single guideflow. Demo Maker Pro does the same thing with browser and Windows steps, so mixing is not what separates the two.
The differences are where HTML starts and what you walk away with. Guideflow’s Free and Solo plans are screenshot and mobile demos only, and HTML capture begins at Growth, a ten-member package. Demo Maker Pro includes HTML capture on its one-computer Publish plan, and the finished walkthrough exports as one HTML file you host where you like.

Guideflow’s annual panel names its entry HTML tier Guideflow Growth; its monthly panel currently names the corresponding ten-member HTML tier Guideflow Startup. The names above preserve that distinction.
The plan cards place offline demos and presenter notes on Advanced, while the feature matrix ticks them from Growth. Enterprise is listed from $2,999 a month on annual billing. Extra Growth members are $50 each per month.
Demo Maker Pro’s Publish plan provides a lower entry cost for someone who needs one computer. This is not an equal-seat savings comparison: Guideflow’s packages include ten members, while Demo Maker Pro’s Team plan licenses five computers and uses one shared publishing account.
Guideflow’s cheaper Solo plan excludes HTML capture. Guideflow’s Advanced plan adds sandbox demos.

Guideflow offline copies and a Demo Maker Pro export
Guideflow’s help center describes offline demos as saved copies “stored locally on the device,” opened from “Offline guideflows” in your workspace, from the Growth plan. That suits presenting without a connection. A Demo Maker Pro export is a different kind of thing: one self-contained HTML file you upload to your own web server or LMS, which keeps working after a subscription ends. More on self-hosting.
Questions before you switch from Guideflow
Can one walkthrough cover a web app and a Windows program?
Yes. Click Record Desktop in the editor, switch to the program and press F9 for each screen. Those steps land in the same list as your browser steps, in the order you took them.
Is there a macOS version, as Guideflow has?
No. The editor runs on Windows today and Mac support is in progress. Viewers can use a browser on any system.
