Short answer. Navattic is the better choice if interactive demos are part of a go-to-market program: it has account identification, pipeline analytics, A/B testing, Salesforce and Marketo integrations, sandbox demos, AI voiceovers and enterprise governance, and none of that is on our roadmap. Demo Maker Pro is the better Navattic alternative if what you actually want is to capture a workflow, edit it on your own computer, and end up with a single self-contained HTML file you host wherever you like.
Both products create real HTML demos. Both can now capture native desktop applications. The difference is what surrounds the demo afterwards, and who holds the finished file.

What Navattic is
Navattic is an interactive demo platform built for B2B go-to-market teams. It does HTML web captures, media captures, guided and sandbox demos, AI-assisted creation, analytics, account identification, and integrations with sales and marketing systems.
Its published plans are Starter (free, one demo), Startup at $125 per month billed annually or $150 month to month, Base at $500 annual or $600 monthly, Growth at $1,000 annual or $1,200 monthly, and a custom Enterprise tier. Unlimited HTML demos start at Startup. Sandbox demos, account identification, A/B testing and pipeline impact start at Base. SSO and directory sync arrive at Growth. Offline demos and HTML capture translation are Enterprise only.
That is a real platform, and for a company running a demo program across marketing, sales and presales, the breadth earns its price.
What Demo Maker Pro is
Demo Maker Pro is local-first interactive demo software for Windows. Browser workflows are captured as real HTML and CSS through our Chrome or Edge extension, recording inside the browser session you are already signed in to. Native Windows applications are captured as screenshot-based interactive steps, and both kinds of step can sit in one walkthrough.
You edit the project in a desktop application on your own machine. When it is finished you either publish a hosted link or export one self-contained HTML file and put it on your own web server, intranet or LMS.
Correcting something we used to say here
An earlier version of this page said Navattic had no native desktop capture and routed native applications to uploaded media. That was wrong, and we are fixing it rather than quietly deleting it.
Navattic's documentation states that its Desktop app "lets you capture screenshots of applications that can't be opened in a browser, including native Windows and macOS apps", and it publishes installers for Windows, Mac on Apple Silicon and Mac on Intel. You pick a source (display, window, area or a connected device) and a capture type (a screenshot per click, or video).
So desktop capture is not a reason to choose Demo Maker Pro over Navattic. Navattic covers macOS as well, which we do not. Both products capture native applications as images rather than markup, for the same unavoidable reason: there is no DOM inside a native application to read.
The difference that does hold up: who ends up with the file
Navattic is built around a cloud workspace, which is the right shape when several people need shared collaboration, analytics and governance over a demo library.
Demo Maker Pro assumes the opposite. The editable project lives on your computer. Publishing is optional. If you export, the output is one HTML file that keeps working whether or not you are still a customer, and never contacts our servers.
Navattic's Enterprise tier lists offline demos, which is a genuine capability inside their platform. It is not the same thing as a file you own outright, and we try to keep those two ideas separate on this site.
For plenty of buyers this distinction is irrelevant. For a trainer putting a walkthrough inside a course, or an IT team publishing to an intranet, it is the whole reason they went looking for an alternative.
Where Navattic is straightforwardly better
- Buyer intelligence. Account identification, engagement analytics,
pipeline impact and A/B testing. Demo Maker Pro does not publish analytics features at all.
- Integrations. Slack, HubSpot, Salesforce, Marketo and a long tail
beyond, with playbooks. We have none.
- Sandbox demos. Free-roam exploration of a simulated product, from Base.
Demo Maker Pro only produces guided walkthroughs.
- AI. Voiceovers, narrated demos, avatars, an MCP server.
- macOS. Navattic captures on both platforms. We are Windows only.
- Enterprise controls. SSO, directory sync, custom domains, audit logs.
If two or more of those are requirements, this comparison is already over and Navattic is your answer.
Where Demo Maker Pro fits better
- HTML capture on the entry plan rather than as a tier upgrade.
- A local editor and a project file that stays on your machine.
- Windows application capture combined with browser steps in one sequence.
- A single-file HTML export you can host yourself or move around.
- Deployment onto an intranet or LMS with no vendor in the path.
- No spend on revenue analytics you will not use.
Navattic vs Demo Maker Pro for technical training
Product marketing and technical training ask different questions of a demo tool. A marketer wants to know which accounts watched and where they lost interest. A trainer teaching a 15-step configuration in AWS, Cisco ACI or an administrative portal mostly wants the procedure reproduced exactly, and the result dropped into an existing course.
That second job is what Demo Maker Pro is shaped around, and it is why the trainers page and the training simulation page exist. Navattic can do training content perfectly well; it simply carries a lot of GTM machinery you would not be using.
Navattic vs Demo Maker Pro for internal teams
Internal procedures cross systems. A task might start in a browser-based employee portal and finish in a Windows client. Demo Maker Pro records both in one walkthrough and exports the result for an internal server. Navattic can also mix web and media captures, and adds centralized management on top.
Which model wins depends on whether your organization values shared cloud governance or independent hosting more. Our internal teams page covers the second case.
Pricing, compared honestly
Demo Maker Pro is Creator at $59 per month, Publish at $89 and Team at $299 for five computers. HTML export is on every plan; only the cloud publishing limit changes.
Navattic's entry to unlimited HTML demos is Startup at $125 per month billed annually, or $150 month to month, for one seat.
Navattic is not the expensive option for HTML that some comparison pages claim. Their $125 tier lists unlimited HTML demos, which is far cheaper than where Supademo, Guideflow or Arcade put the same capability. If price is your only axis, the gap between $59 and $125 is not large, and Navattic gives you considerably more for the difference. Choose on what you need, not on the two entry numbers.
Frequently asked questions
What is a good Navattic alternative?
Demo Maker Pro is a Navattic alternative for buyers who want local editing, Windows application capture, and a self-contained HTML file they host themselves. Navattic remains the stronger choice for analytics, integrations, sandbox demos and enterprise demo operations.
Does Navattic capture desktop applications?
Yes. Navattic publishes a Desktop app for Windows and macOS that captures native applications as screenshots or video. Older comparisons, including an earlier version of this page, described Navattic as browser-only. That is out of date.
Which is cheaper for HTML demos?
Demo Maker Pro Creator is $59 per month with HTML capture included. Navattic's Startup tier is $125 per month billed annually, or $150 monthly, and includes unlimited HTML demos plus a good deal more.
Can Demo Maker Pro self-host demos?
Yes. A finished project exports as one self-contained HTML file that you can host on your own web server, intranet or LMS. It keeps working after you cancel and never calls home.
Does Demo Maker Pro replace a Navattic sandbox?
No. Demo Maker Pro produces guided walkthroughs on a defined path. If your viewers need to roam a simulated application freely, Navattic's sandbox demos are the right tool and we are not a substitute.
Does Demo Maker Pro have analytics?
No. We do not publish analytics or lead capture features. If you need to know who watched a demo and what they did, that is a reason to choose Navattic.
Final verdict
Navattic is the stronger product when demos are part of a revenue operation, and it is cheaper for HTML than the wider market. Demo Maker Pro is the stronger fit when the demo itself is the deliverable and you want to create it locally, cover Windows applications, and keep the finished file.
The useful question is not which has more features. Navattic does. It is whether you need a go-to-market demo platform, or a way to build and own interactive walkthroughs. See the full comparison of demo software for how the rest of the field lines up.
