Where HTML capture sits in each product
Storylane offers more than one way to build a demo. Its Free and Starter plans work from screenshots and video. The HTML Demo Editor starts at Growth, which is $500 a month on annual billing or $625 month to month, with five seats. Storylane ships both a Chrome extension and a desktop app for capture.
Demo Maker Pro has no tier without HTML. Its extension records inside the Chrome or Edge window you are already signed into, and each step streams into the Windows editor as you click. Windows programs are recorded by the editor itself as images of the window, and both kinds of step sit in one list.

Demo Maker Pro’s Team plan costs $1,500 less per year, a 25% saving, than Storylane’s Growth plan on annual billing. Five activated computers and five user seats are different licenses. Demo Maker Pro’s Team plan uses one shared cloud-publishing account; the packages have different collaboration and platform features.
For one creator, Demo Maker Pro’s Publish plan provides HTML capture without buying a five-seat package. Storylane’s cheaper Starter plan does not include HTML capture, so it is not the comparison used here.
Storylane seat add-ons are not in the table: $40 per extra Starter seat and $100 per extra Growth seat. Tax is extra.
Where Storylane is ahead, and where Demo Maker Pro fits

Offline viewing versus a file you keep
Storylane’s Offline Demos, from Growth up, give you a secure URL for offline viewing as part of its Conference Mode. It is a Storylane capability that lives inside Storylane, not a file you hand to someone.

Questions from Storylane users
Does Demo Maker Pro have a desktop app like Storylane’s?
The editor itself is a Windows desktop application, and it records Windows programs directly with no extension. Browser screens come from the Chrome or Edge extension. The editor does not run on a Mac yet; that support is in progress. Viewers can use any browser.
Is there a free plan?
No. There are two paid plans and a 7-day trial. Fill in the form on the pricing page and we email you a license key for one computer and one published demo. Nothing is charged and nothing renews.
What happens to hosted demos if I stop paying?
Hosted links stop being served when the subscription ends. Exported HTML files are unaffected, so export what you want to keep first.
