Activate your licence

How to enter your licence key, how many computers one licence covers, how long the app works offline, and how to move your licence to a new machine.

The first time you open the app it asks for a license key. Paste in the key from your trial or purchase email and click Activate. Once activated, the desktop application unlocks recording and editing, and the browser extension can start streaming steps into it.

One device per licence

A license can be activated on one device, unless you are on the Team plan, which covers five computers. If you need to move to a different device, release one first, see moving to a new computer below.

Working offline

Once activated, the app keeps working for three days without an internet connection, so travelling or a brief outage will not lock you out. Connect once and the three days start again.

Moving to a new computer

Open File > License on the old machine and click Deactivate this device. That frees the seat. Then activate with the same key on the new machine.

If you no longer have access to the old computer, email support@demomakerpro.com and we will release the seat for you.

If the extension tells you Demo Maker Pro needs an active license, the desktop app is running but not activated. Open it, go to File > License, and activate with your key. More on this in troubleshooting.

When a plan ends

When your paid plan ends, you can no longer use the Demo Maker Pro desktop app or browser extension to record, edit, export, or publish demos. Any HTML demos you already exported to your computer are yours to keep and will continue working normally.
