Free plan

Free interactive demo software

Demo Maker Pro's Free plan records web apps as real HTML and CSS and desktop programs as screenshot steps, gives you the full editor, and publishes one demo to a shareable link. It is free forever, with no card and no time limit.

What the Free plan includes

Everything you need to make a real interactive demo and share it, at no cost.

The limits, stated plainly

One live demo. To publish a different demo, unpublish the live one first. The demo you unpublished goes back to your unpublished demos (one of the 5), and when you publish it again it comes back on the same link.

A small badge. Published Free demos show “Made with Demo Maker Pro”. Every paid plan removes it, from a demo that is already live too.

No HTML downloads of your own demos. Downloading a demo as one self-contained HTML file comes with Pro and Team. The sample demo is the exception, so you can see what the file is like.

A work email, one Free workspace each. Sign up needs a work email address, and each address gets one Free workspace.

Sign in now and then. A Free workspace that nobody signs in to for 3 months is deleted, after reminders 30 days, 7 days and 1 day before. Signing in once keeps it. Paid plans are never deleted for being quiet.

Free interactive demo plans compared

What each vendor's own pricing page and documentation say its free plan includes, checked October 30 and November 6, 2026.

Platform Free plan HTML capture on the free plan Demos on the free plan
Demo Maker Pro Free Yes, plus desktop steps 1 published at a time and 5 unpublished
Navattic Starter Yes, as its one demo 1 demo (HTML or media)
Storylane Free No: screenshot and video; the HTML Demo Editor starts at Growth 1 published demo
Supademo Free No: HTML capture starts at Business Up to 5 demos
Guideflow Free No: HTML capture starts at Growth 5 guideflows, with a watermark
Arcade Free No: HTML capture is Enterprise only See Arcade's pricing page

Most free plans in this category record screenshots or video. Among the larger vendors, real HTML capture, where the demo is built from the page's own markup, usually starts on a plan that costs hundreds of dollars a month. Navattic's Starter is the exception, with one demo in all. Demo Maker Pro's Free plan keeps one demo live and five more in progress, and adds desktop programs to the same walkthrough. Prices and plan limits change, so check each vendor's own page before you decide; the full feature comparison is on interactive demo software compared.

Make your first free demo in five steps

  1. Sign up at app.demomakerpro.com with your work email. No card.
  2. Add the free extension to Chrome or Edge.
  3. Record. Open the web app you want to show, click Start recording and click through the workflow, pausing a second or two between clicks.
  4. Edit. Click Finish and the steps open in the editor, where you add tooltips and targets.
  5. Publish. Click Publish for a shareable link, or embed the demo on your site.

The recording guide in the docs covers each step: record a browser demo.

When a paid plan makes sense

Cloud, $99 a month, when you want more than one demo live: unlimited demos and published links, without the badge. Pro, $149 a month, adds HTML downloads, one self-contained file per demo that you host yourself and that keeps working after you cancel. Team, $4,500 a year, puts up to five people in one shared workspace. You choose a plan in the app when you are ready; everything you made on Free carries over. See pricing.

If you cancel a paid plan later, the workspace moves back to Free: your most recently published demo stays live, and the rest go to the Trash for 30 days, so choosing a plan again in that time brings them all back.

Questions

Is Demo Maker Pro's Free plan really free forever?

Yes. The Free plan has no end date, needs no card and never charges you. The one condition: a Free workspace that nobody signs in to for 3 months is deleted, after three email reminders. Signing in once keeps it.

Do I need a credit card to start?

No. You sign up with your work email address and make your first demo right away. Payment details are only asked for if you choose a paid plan.

What can I make on the Free plan?

Record web apps as real HTML and CSS and desktop programs as screenshot steps, edit them in the full editor with tooltips and targets, keep up to 5 unpublished demos, and publish one demo at a time as a link or embed.

Can I publish more than one demo on the Free plan?

One at a time. To show a different demo, unpublish the live one in My demos and publish the other. The demo you unpublished goes back to your unpublished demos (one of the 5), and comes back on the same link when you publish it again.

Can I download my demo as an HTML file on the Free plan?

Not your own demos: HTML downloads come with Pro and Team. The Free plan does include a finished sample demo that you can download as an HTML file, so you can see exactly what you would get.

Is there a watermark on free demos?

Published Free demos show a small “Made with Demo Maker Pro” badge that links to our website. Every paid plan removes it, including from a demo that is already published.

Who can sign up for the Free plan?

Anyone with a work email address. Addresses from personal email services, such as Gmail, Outlook and Yahoo, are refused, and each email address gets one Free workspace.

What happens if I cancel a paid plan later?

Your workspace moves to the Free plan. Your most recently published demo stays live, and your other demos move to the Trash, where they are deleted after 30 days. Choose a plan within those 30 days and they all come back, ready to publish again on the same links. HTML files you downloaded on Pro or Team keep working.
